Livestock and meat production monthly trend movements for September 2015:
- Cattle slaughter continued to slow in September 2015, with abattoirs in Queensland reducing their days of operation due to high beef prices.
- Calf slaughter continued to decrease in September 2015 reflecting the seasonal nature of this sector of the industry.
- Sheep slaughter has continued to increase in September 2015 following recent low numbers in April 2015.
- Lamb meat production has continued to decline in September 2015.
- Pig slaughter continued to decline in September 2015 from the recent peak in March 2015.
